Superb Watkins V-Front Dominator for sale in excellent cosmetic condition and very good working order following a service. Dating from c1963, this amp looks to be all-original internally aside from one period-correct replacement Elac speaker. It has what appears to be a full set of Mullard valves (one is worn where the logo was). These amps sound absolutely huge - stand one behind your Marshall/Vox stack and mic it up....

It's had a full service and sounds incredible - these iconic amps are real gems. The tremolo is great - plenty of depth, some thump at deeper settings, but very usable.

No wonder Jim Marshall found ‘inspiration’ from these great amps for his classic 18w design. Charlie Watkins was well ahead of the game (ask anyone who owns a pre-WEM Westminster)...

CONDITION: Excellent cosmetic condition with the case only having minor scuffs and wear around the edges. The faceplate is worn in places and some of the instructions are starting to scuff. Looks to have a full set of Mullards, although the printing on one valve has worn away. See photos for more information on cosmetic condition and information about the valves.

It’s had a thorough overhaul and everything is back up to original spec. Many components in these early Watkins amps are way out of specification now and they usually need a good deal of work to make them sound as they should - but it’s well-worth it.
